High Level Signing Ceremony between SFU and UA, AMS

Shanghai Finance University (SFU) and University of Antwerp (UA), Antwerp Management School (AMS) sign an MoU in the presence of the Mr. Ludo VAN CAMPENHOUT, vice mayor of the city of Antwerp. This is the visible progress of substantive collaborations between the two universities, and is also one of the concrete results from the educational collaborations between the twin-city relation of Shanghai and the city of Antwerp.

Initiation of this collaboration is quite meaningful to both universities’ internationalized process and cooperation. Founded in 1952, Shanghai Finance University (SFU) with more than 60 years’ history is a full-time public academic institution, which focuses on training talents in finance and economic management. SFU has good relationships with banking and financial industries, and is praised as a "Cradle of Future Financial Experts". Meanwhile, Antwerp Management School was the first management school in Belgium who had the AACSB accreditation. Advance and multiple resources can be shared for the purposes of talents training and teaching views broadening, etc.

Finance Master Program and Ph.D. Program in Applied Economics with Orientation Finance, scientific research cooperation and faculty members exchange will be launched soon based on the agreement. After finishing the Master of Finance program at Antwerp Management School, students might enroll after completing the required administration and enrollment steps to the Summer program at AMS’s sister school Fordham University where they could obtain a dual degree on Master of Global Finance.

The university was founded in 2003 after the merger of the three universities that were previously known as RUCA (State University Centre Antwerp), UFSIA (University Faculties Saint Ignatius Antwerp) and UIA (University Institution Antwerp). Hence, the university's roots go back to 1852. The University of Antwerp has approximately 20 000 students and is still increasing, which makes it the third largest university in Flanders. In order to face the challenges posed by the internationalization of European education and research, the University is part of the Antwerp University Association (AUHA).

Antwerp Management School is the autonomous business school of the University of Antwerp, and was founded in 1959 as IPO (Instituut voor Postuniversitair Onderwijs), at that time the most prestigious school for management education. The institute had a major impact on the development of Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium and beyond by delivering top managers in large companies and organizations.
